MOVING ON

Summative 2 exam is finally over and done with. It is a relieve eventhough i know the hard part is yet to come. The exam was okay, *hmm*..okay seems to be a normal respond. what does okay actually mean???. it reminds me of schooling days, once i have finished an exam and mum would ask me, "so how did it go??" and i would say "okay la" (being malaysian)..then there would be a short moment of pause, i guess it was her waiting for me to elaborate on that..after that moment, i would either go "okay" again or elaborate telling her how many questions i didnt know and that i was not quite sure what my results would be like. Eventhough my mum thinks, saying "okay" is me not trying to communicate..i feel that "okay" is the easiest word to describe an exam your unsure of.."The paper was not that hard or too easy either, yet there were parts of it i was uncertain of"..instead of saying all that, we substitute it with the word "okay"...if the paper was extremely tough..i would definately said it was "hard" and express my sadness and doubt on my chance of passing..on the other hand, if the exam was easy ( i hardly use this word when it comes to exams)..im sure i would say it was easy.. Somehow, mum doesnt ask me how the easy paper was!( example : english )

Anyways after Summative 2, i told myself that i would attend the Feedback session. Afterall eventhough i would know how badly or well i did, the feedback was meant for us to learn from our mistakes and hopefully dont repeat them in EOS!..I sort of lost track of the number of mistakes i did, and i would have to wait for the result to see the final and exact score!..that however is the least of my worries right now. At this point of time, all i can think about is cramming all those notes into my brains in 2 weeks!!!!!.

After exams, tallan and i just got back to the apartment and lazed around..The exhaustion just fell on me like a ton of bricks..all i wanted to do was sleep and watch the tv series i downloaded. we had to go for our dental suprise gathering though. Since i was craving for a good meal, i went to chillies in KLCC.. ive never been to the chillies there. It is well known for its good view, i definately was looking forward to that good view..unfortunately the place was packed and we ended up sitting at this congested area. I lost my apetite after that. Im definately not satisfied...therefore after my finals, i will go back to klcc and get that table with the good view *haha*...

After dinner, i went to watch Max Payne. I did not realise i was actually watching a movie which was released on the that day. *haha*.i was quite excited when i found out though. Max Payne, the movie which was based on a game, to me was interesting and entertaining. I know a few people who did not enjoy it and thought it was boring. I mean which part of the movie was actually boring???..I have to agree that the movie did revolve mostly around mark wahlberg and his 'sad & angry" character,.but the storyline was different and the action was alright except for certain parts which i thought looked so "tamil movie-ish"...overall, i would give it an 7/10...which is good in my books!..

the movie ended at 11pm, i got home to find my housemate having a drinking party with lots of people!. I totally did not expect that. I was too tired to actually join them, and i ended up sleeping through all that LOUD noise!.. (not bad premi!)..that pretty much was how my thursday went. I woke on friday feeling so drugged and drained out of energy. I had so much to pack and i was glad to be back home for my 2 weeks study break... The only thing i have to complain about is getting the momentum to study again for EOS..its difficult to just go back sitting with the books and memorising!...i know i dont have much of a choice. i started out slow but i know eventually i will get there!

till my next post

BRING IT ON!

The day has finally arrived, in less than 20hours time i will be sitting for my Summative 2 exam!.*gasp*.how is my preparation going?? well that's not really an easy question for me to answer. It eventually comes down to that one hour at the exam hall..There's only so much i can control and the rest is basically unpredictable. Among the things i cant control is how tough the exam paper will be, the butterfly in my tummy (they're pretty stubborn) and my brain function. At the present moment, i suppose i have done most of what i am suppose to do (note me trying to be positive) *haha*..the rest depends on god and luck!..Summative 2 is not really the most dreadful thing, the worst (EOS) has yet to come..Every preparation from here on out will be for EOS.

Then why is tomorrow still such a big deal to me??, Summative 2 does contribute 15% to my internal, but it is a wake up call for me because i will have 2 weeks to complete my dental semester 1 work, dental semester 2 stuff and also medical semester 1 notes ( about 120 lectures)..i predict really late nights, and dark raccoon eyes and moments of depression. Anyways i am ready to go through any hardship and challenge to pass my professional exam!. Goodbye social life!....

Today we have our MOCK EOS exam, i have only one word to describe it,..*HORENDOUS*...i have so much work to do. Out of 12 questions i probably knew 3/4 questions and the rest was pure guessing!..*sigh*, that exams says everything about my preparation for my finals...well now since the battle has begun, im sure there will be progress *fingers-crossed*...

XOXO
Dental result came out today. i am pretty content with the outcome..i have to admit i expected the worse. So now i have to give my finals everything i got, and i might be able to come out of it alive. I wish everyone good luck for Summative 2 tomorrow and for the final preparation!..

Goodbye 1 week break, Hello last week of university!

I cannot believe one whole week of break has just gone by, how i wish it was longer because im certainly not looking forward to going back to uni eventhough its my last week!!. there's only 12 more days until my Summative 2 exam and about a month till my finals!!!..if your wondering whether im stressed???, i am a little stressed and tensed about it.(of course my hormones arent helping)..being a women (since im 20) is not easy, we have this thing called "hormones" that i believe has a mind of its own.. who can tell when were upset or emotional or just annoyed!!..More so when its the time of the month! *sigh*, but it also has its good side..it prevents us from being susceptible to certain diseases thats until we reach menopause..after that, there are other things to worry about...*hmm*

Anyways, most of time during this holiday was spent at home drowning myself in medical books!! this was the only time i had to catch up on so many things..i only manage to do medical stuff..havent touched dental.. Trust me, being a dental student is definately not easier. Im not suprised that dentist have the highest SUICIDE rate!!! *gosh*. how on earth do they expect to us to get all that information in and finals is just one day after the medical professional exam, i need to know my work at my finger tips!! Just thinking about it makes me dizzy.. well i suppose anything is possible (trying to be positive)..i have to keep at the pace and not slow down or get distracted.

Besides my life being about the books now, i spent quality time with my mum. Mum is helping me with the decoration for the diwali night. my godparents and us when to "little india" which is in klang town on saturday. We browsed around for indian decorative items and im happy to say i saw a couple of things i liked and i managed to come up with a budget...im hoping RM 500 will not be too expensive for the committee...i think buying this decoration is actually a good investment, you basicly can reuse it for any other diwali or indian functions. There wasnt any deco's left from last year because they only used balloons. The theme for this year's diwali night is VARNAM, Colours of Diwali.. i have a couple of ideas which i hope will turn out nicely. Before that, i need to find myself some help...doubt i can do everything on my own...

Right now i have a list of things to do which i have to try to get done by tomorrow, after that i will be able to concerntrate on my exams!.the last week of uni is pretty dreadful, prof khoo is giving us a quiz on tuesday on something i have YET to read!!, and then on wednesday..is our feedback session for the dental OSPE exam *gulp*, oh tomorrow i have this microscopy lab thing which i really think is a waste of time.. time we could use studying!!..there is also dental practice sessions..*goodness*...we have 3 more foundation lectures to read before exam *hmm*..i need to save all my energy and get enough rest just to get through the week!...

till my next post!.

MAMMA MIA!

Yes i have watched the 2008 Summer musical release "Mamma Mia"..and what do i have to say about it, it was just really enjoyable!!. Although there have been mix reviews on the movie., i personally will encourage those who like musicals or ABBA for that matter to watch the movie. ..

I watched the movie with my mum and godparents. The first thing my godfather asked me before we went in the cinema was

Godfather : have you heard of abba???
Me : *giving the DUH look*

haha..Im pretty sure almost everyone (our generation) know about ABBA, How can you not know ABBA.. or am i being too naive to think that everyone might know of them..Is it because im more musicly incline?, or is it cause im more exposed to musics from different era. Well for those of you who do not know about ABBA or the MAMMA MIA musical which is a broadway...well its pretty sad. Their music is just classic and has a lot of meaning..something that music at the present time is lacking (if you know what i mean)...

Anyways coming back to the movie, the star studded cast which included Pierce Brosnon, Meryl Streep, Amanda seyfried, Colin Firth brought such joy and fun to the musical filled with laughter. The best part was that they used on their own voice. Imagine my suprise when i heard Pierce Brosnon sing!! *hmm*..not bad for a bond!!!!

The first thing i did once i got back after the movie was actually download the whole soundtrack *hehe*. Here are my top 3 reasons for watching the movie :

1. Its based on MAMMA MIA the musical from ABBA (the songs are wonderful)

2. It was filmed in GREECE! soo very beautiful (its in my honeymoon list *blush*
3. its a Fun-filled movie that will just lift your spirits..

Stress-relief ways!

Since its the Exam season, im sure most of us are pretty stressed, tensed and well,(especially for girls) we start noticing an increase in loss of hair. Due to this, some might start to look for alternate ways of de-stressing. Among the different ways are :

1. hanging out with friends or girlfriends...who wouldnt love spending some girl time (shopping!, manicures!)

2. Then there is the food solution.i have to admit, i fall into this category. We start eating chocolate stuff, ice-creams and heavy meals!.

3. Listening to music. (im for this as well!)... especially when im studying, after a while..i turn on my itunes and listen to smooth jazzy sounds of michael buble, The corrs, Craig david. etcetc..

4. watching a tv series. new season of Gossip girl, Heroes, Prison break & grey's anatomy is out!! (but becareful as this can lead to a serious addiction)

Basicly those are a few examples i can think of at the moment. Im sure most of you have your own personal way of letting go. Some of the examples only apply in certain conditions.. NOT when your exams are around the corner, then its BYE BYE! tv series *sobs*...

Today while studying a good friend of mine sent me an sms while i was busy understanding IMMUNOLOGY!!. The message was refering to my cheerleading pictures on facebook. I thought the message was really cute and sweet.

GOOD FRIEND : Save the cheerleader save the world. I never got why they used to say that but after seeing your pics now i know. *smiley face*.

Somehow that message also got me thinking of my lecturers in IMU who have a tendency of posting up cartoon pictures in between their lecture slides. A couple of them are pretty funny. Below are a couple of cute jokes i found of the internet.

Dental Humour!! (afterall i AM a dental student *winks*)

-hope you enjoyed it-

IMU CUP *Go Bandits!!*

Let me start of by saying that, i am not really an athletic person neither am i active in outdoor acitivities. Hence joining the cheerleading squad came as a suprise to not only me but most of my friends and family members. However, till this very day i will not regret joining the group because it was loads of fun and i actually lost weight *wohoo*. To this i have only one person to thank, and that person is Izyan Syazwani a.k.a izzi!. Our cheerleading team was called the BANDITS!.im not quite sure who came up with it..we also had a short cheer which was used during all the games. it went something like this : MEDT BANG!BANG! BANG!..( refering to the gun bang people *hehe*)
The competition was on the 19th September 2008 at the IMU atrium. a total of 6 groups from various batches and course took part. The cheerleading competition is the biggest event during IMU cup and so many people come to watch it. My friends from klang and my MUMMY actually came to watch me. Seeing her really made my day.. To make it all the more better, we actually won 3rd place. We werent quite expecting a placing as most of the senior batches were really good. I guess our synchronising and facial expression helped us out..so thank you Wei chin for everything.
Our performance started with "bittersweet symphony" by verve, and then followed by a short cheer. Next was "pump it" by black eyed peas and "lets get it started" by black eyed peas. After a longer cheer (main cheer)..we danced to Avril Lavigne " best damn thing"..it was a very cute girly song!!, then came "elevator" by timbaland. and lastly was "So what" by Pink!.. A video of our performance can be found on YOUTUBE!
Here are a couple of pics from that memorable day.

Meet the cheer squad!

In the begining, first song we danced to was "pump it" by black eyed peas

i was doing a shoulder sit on leon!! (there were some minor mistakes on that day) sorry about that leon

The guy who takes amazing pictures

Prakash who helped me do my pom poms!

My very own personal cheerleaders *winks*

QUICKIES!

Current status : really sad

As my status says, im really sad because today my dear friend dhal left for uk. I know, mentioned it in my previous post, but what makes this departure worse was because i didnt get to see her before she left.. YES i did mention i was going to meet her with my friend maya..but things didnt quite work out..let me explain why :

1. the initial plan was that maya was going to drive to KLIA in the morning to send daley of. We agreed to leave to at 7am to get that early and just incase we got lost, etc.. Maya sent me a text me early morning around 5 to tell me that she thought we should take the train, cause she didnt want to drive as she was not sure of the route to KLIA..she said that if thats the case we can leave at 7.30am..i was quite hesitant. we all know how our train system is...even if the KLIA express and the LRT is pretty fast and efficient... Anyways i was up by 7am.and decided to google the KLIA Express...i didnt realise how expensive the train ticket was...its RM 26.50 for one way ( tasik selatan to klia)..

2. I called maya at 7.30am a couple of times but she didnt answer..i assumed she overslept since she did have a late night...she called me back at 7.45am...we tried to figure the best way to get to the airport..she didnt want to drive because she had to pour petrol, and finding parking was going to be difficult..Anyways, we took the train at 8.00am..and reached the tasik selatan station 10 minutes later. We had to wait for the train to the airport for 25 MINS!!!!!...*sigh*]

3. i text dhal about 8.30am to tell her not to go in yet..and that we would be at the airport by 9am..besides it doesnt really take long to go into imigration (thanks to our awesome passport thingy)..and the gate would prob open at 9.20am...when i went to adelaide, i was the second last person to board the plane..*haha*..coming back to my story...half way, dhal texts me and says that her dad made her go in already...my heart just sank!!..we were so close...*sobs sobs*...

4. there was nothing much we could do, we got down at the next station and took the next train back to tasik selatan.. i tried negotiating with the guy to give us a refund..but he said NO...and there goes RM 26.70!! i was completely broke...maya had to buy my ticket back to sri petaling...The money was a secondary issue,,it was just really upseting that i couldnt see her before she left..we only talked for a short while!!.. *hmm*....oh well my thoughts will always be with you dal

5. Im definately going to miss you heaps, cant wait to see you when you come back.!!! this post is dedicated to you. Wish you all the luck in the world!!! and just have fun..i know you will..OH and if that particular someone gives you trouble...ill take the next flight to uk...and kick his ass!!!!..*lol*...muax.!!!!!!!

love ya!!!.
