In about 10 minutes time, the "merdeka" celebration will come to an end. It will officially be the 1st of September. The first thing that comes to my mind, is how fast time has passed and it scares me to know that im just 3 weeks away from my dental exam. There is still so much to be done..well maybe ill leave all that whining for another post *hehe*
Coming back to the highlight of the post, its all about malaysia's 51st national day. I wasnt around for last year's 50th celebration which was a much bigger deal. The hype of this year's celebration wasnt really the same compared to last year ( i think)...i was actually in adelaide during that time. Although there was the usual Merdeka eve clubbing parties happening, i was suppose to go for one but because i was back home during the weekend, i couldnt make it. My weekends are like my family time.So when im home, i hardly go out unless its to see prakash and dhal..In that case, its different because i hardly see them as well. So weekends are the only time we get to catch up.
Anyways, since i was not at any clubs or parties, what did i do during the countdown you might ask??..i was actually at home on my laptop watching cheerleading videos on "you tube". I had my own personal countdown, as the clock on my laptop showed 12am..i knew it was the 31st.. Besides it being our national day, it just struck me that it was BASKIN"s 31st!!! *yikes*..i completely forgot about it... Then again, the weather has been really rainy and gloomy,...it isnt the perfect weather to have an ice cream...Thats how i celebrated my merdeka eve, YES i know its not your normal merdeka eve celebration and it might not be so patriotic, .but who really is alll that patriotic and really has that "malaysia boleh" spirit in reality. I think that people just use this day as an excuse to throw a bash and celebrate. Dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with that....
Most of my day was spent trying to study and browsing on the internet. I went shopping on saturday with my mum actually. That went pretty well. PADINI actually hiked up their sales to 70% since it was towards the end of the "sale" period. I managed to get a couple of tops i really like..i wish i could buy somemore..i really could have gone crazy *hahah*..but i had to control myself..like what someone said to me before..."i have to FOCUS".......i do however need a pair of black shoes and handbags.. The mystery about how girls always feel like they dont have enough stuff is yet to be solved!!!!!
Coming back to my merdeka day, i basicly spent my time at home. All in all, it was a quiet day.........i talked to my sis in aussie which was nice, i cant wait to see her in november!! ill be going to australia for hols..*yippie*..really looking forward to that.. Lastly, i want to wish my cousin Dr Ganesh... Happy Birthday!!!. (his a merdeka baby)..ahhaha..i doubt there are any benefits to that though...OH WELL....till my next post...
xoxo
