Feeling the blues!

Lately, there have been a sequence of events that have happened which lead me to feel pretty down. Add to which the stress of uni life is hitting me and unfortunately ive been unable to handle it well. I guess it is hard to concentrate when there is something constantly bugging you and not resolved. This was a couple of days ago and i do feel a lot better and its save to say that the moment of "blues" has passed and hopefully never return. I have been meaning to blog about it during that phase, however it was hard for me to just sit and blog about it.I'm also not the type of person who blogs about her emotions publicly and stuff.


Anyways the need to get a couple of things off my mind has brought me to write this post. Friendship plays an important role in my life. Since young, somehow i have been very attach to my friends. Its hard for me to get attach but i guess once Ive actually known a person and attached, its hard to let go. Mum used to be worried about this and did advice me to get my priority straight.. * she still does i think*. I have been through my fair share of ups and downs with friends, all those fights, and lies and pain! but if you are able to get through all that and still continue being friends..that's what you call TRUE FRIENDSHIP!..so i guess i can say that i know who my true friends are.


Throughout the schooling phase, its a norm for one to have many different friends, only a small number people will be a constant. In my case, i've been friends with T *names are classified* for about 12 years, S for most of my life since we are related *hehe* and R since standard 6. These are a few of my good friends till today. They are my school and childhood friends. Then there are my college friends and the people i got to know during my high school days and since then we've become very close. Theres J & P whom i know for about 4 years, D since college, my classmates in taylors, buddies in adelaide. Ive bonded with them and truly enjoy their company.

Then there are your really close friends, people whom you spend most of your time hanging out with, going for movies, and just talking to when your low. In my books, well the number of people are very very very limited!.i have to partially blame myself, after all..I'm pretty much secretive and not really open. What is my reasoning to this?? well there isn't really a reason...i only talk or confide in one or 2 particular person.. but my question is what if you lose that person or you cant confide in that person anymore, what is your next move??..

Being an emotional person as well, i do not like being in that position. So at the end of the day i guess being too attached does not really benefit me. Although going through these situations has changed me and helped me to become less dependent. However i do miss having that particular person. I have come across many people who say not all friendships will last, and your close friends will not always be the same etc etc. I refuse to believe them when they said it, and even though I'm going through problems i still will not agree with those people. To me, i will try to do whatever it takes on my path to maintain my bond with my close friends, but if they choose to let go..well then there's nothing much you can do about it.

What Ive learnt is that, throughout your entire life, you will befriend different types of people, not all of them will be good for you, there will be the *bitchy ones* and the ones who try to do harm on you and sometimes the people you care will also do things to hurt you *unknowingly*. ... whatever it is, they will definitely leave a mark, the important thing is to learn and move past it. The bad scars will eventually heal. By moving past it, i only better myself.

On a better note, I'm thankful for having friends who care and try to help me in whatever way they can. Although there are those who are overseas and there are some who are leaving, i know they are worth the trouble.

Reflection

Saturday 11.15pm :

Playing monopoly with myself *sigh*..some might find it kinda pathetic *hint hint prakky*..well i have to admit at time, i myself find it pathetic but i cant deny the fact that it actually helps me get over the boredom. As i sit here, playing with monopoly against my computer and getting frustrated *i keep going to jail, argh!*..i find myself reflecting back on my first week of uni and most of my day. ..lets start with How my week went!

One would definately expect the first week of uni to be a bit relaxing, getting your timetable, going for introductory classes..getting used to new med and dental subjects * microbio & tooth morphology*..at least that was what i expected it to be. I was quite wrong!!.. I did not expect to see a packed 9-6 timetable, and basicly everyday was just exhausting. I not only had classes but i had to do my pbl research and then dental mms preparation! *sigh*..i really do miss my 1st sem timetable and my afternoon naps!!!...i know IMU is trying to help us become better dentist and whatnots..but i really dont get why we have to attend certain classes, PBL and especially CSU!..

How on earth does CSU actually relate to US *dental students*!!..NO were not going to be taking LONG medical history, or pulses..i have to agree that learning how to take blood pressure or pulse is extra information and beneficial..but after having so much to do already..i find it a waste of time. We tend to not learn anything, eventhough we still have to attend classes for the sake of attendance! *frustration*..However, i have to applaud the dental staff and lecturers for making our first week of dentistry quite interesting. learning about comparative anatomy and museum session was actually FUN!! minus the fact that we have to do an assignment on HOMINIDS a.k.a cave men!

Moving on from all the stressful and frustrating topics, among the good things which happened during the week was....

a) we actually got our dental tools *woohoo*. it looks really cute, it comes in this blue colour tool box *pics will be updated asap*..and when you open it..it looks like an art box. this Renfert tool thingy cost RM800!!!! ...

b) we collected our free gift tooth model *pics will be updated asap*..its not the real thing, but because we paid RM875 for it, i guess they decided to give us a free mini version of the teeth..how kind of them..the REAL stuff is suppose to come during the 1st week of august.

c) i went for my 2nd cheerleading class.. YES yes!!! PREMI actually joined cheerleading, im pretty amazed myself. How did it start you might ask??. well it was all because of my friend Izzi who pushed me to attend the practice session despite me telling her that i had NO clue about cheerleading, and im a BUM!!!!.....my housemate tallan thought i would never go for it..well she was definately suprised the day i went for my first practice.. I guess i have to give myself credit for giving it a try *pats herself on the back*....anyways, after the 1st class i actually enjoyed it.....

When 2nd sem started, i had doubts of actually continuing it because of my hectic schedule.Tallan also thought that i would quit, well i guess not. i told myself to actually stick to something and go ahead....so YES. i still am in cheerleading!!

So that was basicly what happened from Monday till Friday, every weekend i come back home to klang. This weekend i had to babysit my younger sis as my parents were out of town!.. i wasnt to please about babysitting..but i really didnt have much of a choice * Big Sister Responsibilities*....Hence there was lots of driving around and staying at home to make sure everything was alright.. nothing exciting!!

I missed my Dental Picnic thingy in Klcc park because of it as well..*hmm*. i did not get much studying done as well, which was frustrating. I cant really explain why im in this weird mood. Its complicated. Somehow the weekend passes by so quickly, and then were back to monday.im already feeling the monday blues....

11.48 pm : well its time for me to go to sleep, i hope to get some work done tomorrow before heading back to bukit jalil.

Movie-Spree!!

There is no doubt that 2008 is the year of movies!..since january a continous wave of fantastic movies have hit our local cinema's.I spent so much time at the TGV bukit tinggi cinema during my holiday. Not forgetting the amount of caramel popcorn consumed *though it was yummy!!* and yes the freezing cinema, it was so cold, after the movie ended i could hardly feel my legs, so after learning it the hard way ( my 1st time at the cinema), i brought along my good friend *mr.sweater* to help keep me warm. Then there's my friend dhalini who wears her short sleeve top and jeans to the cinema., although she does complain about it being cold, the next visit to the cinema is no different *hmm*. i think that the people at TGV Aeon need to get their termometers checked..the place is just too cold for a normal malaysian person!!.

Moving on... some might not agree with my choice of good movies, but this is my blog after all..so what i say goes *hehe*...anyways coming back to the fact that im in the movie mania mood..this is my list of favourite movies of 2008 and the upcoming movies i am looking forward to see.

Favourite chick flick : 27 dresses

-katherine heigl plays the character of a girl whose always the bridesmaid but never the bride.Heigl who shot to superstardom in the famous grey's anatomy, played the character of jane wonderfully in this comedy. My favourite aspect of the part, besides the fact that it was a chick flick *winks* was the story line, it makes you look at bridesmaid's a whole lot differently.

favourite fantasy/ adventure movie : The Spiderwick Chronicles

This movie is about an extremely extraordinary situation when the Grace family moves into this family estate they inherited and are slowly introduced to those creatures through a Field Guide. I enjoy movies that deal with weird looking creatures and that are very imaginative..Spiderwick begin as a book before it was brought to screen.

Favourite absurd creature movie: HEll Boy 2 : The Golden Army

Hell boy 2 certainly lived up to its expectation. Its normally hard for a sequel to do as well as it did compared to the first movie but The Golden Army was totally "artistic in nature" (as esh describes it). this was especially noticeable when it came to its characters! *hint hint (pan's labryinth)*..im pretty sure there will be another episode..

Favourite Comedy...which movie better then : Kung Fu Panda!!!!...

I doubt anyone can resist a big fat cute panda bear.. even more so when Jack Black is doing the voice over. The wide range of characters within the movie added a little bit more spice. *hint hint: the tigress!!*...So my reccomendation is for those of you who havent watched it!! GOOOO get the pirated cd, or catch the movie at your nearest cinema! Dustin Hoffman plays his character to perfection as the cute little sifu!..my favourite character was *hmm*..(to be decided)

My favourite Superhero : Ironman!

The more popular superheroes were Spiderman, Superman, X-men and Batman...i didnt really have a favourite superhero, well that was until i saw IRONMAN!...the movie was very entertaining and relatable to the world's present. It is possible for mankind to create an iron suit, with the current technology but whether you can fly around and shoot missiles out of the palm of your hand is a different matter. That's not really why i chose ironman as my superhero. I chose him because : 1. he doesnt have a girlfriend unlike the other superheroes and their girl problems!! 2. his got a really amazing mansion and collection of cars and finally his suit is just COOL!! hahaha. oh and not forgetting that Robert Downey is good looking!!..glad he manage to overcome his Issues...it was a perfect movie to choose for a comeback.

My favourite movie of the year :.. *this is an easy guess*..Dark Knight!!!!!

The much talked about and awaited movie certainly did live up to my expectation. Im sure it did for many people out there as well. The sad and early departure of Heath Ledger who plays the magnificent joker contributed to the eager anticipation of the movie. There was already much hype about the movie prior to its release. The Dark knight clearly has everything to be an AWESOME movie....Good selection of cast? check. (every character had a story and played a good role in the movie). Good plot & ending? check. Devilish fun? check. Freaky moments? check. ...but im pretty sure this is not the end for director christopher nolan...will there be another Batman?..i guess we will have to wait and see. Do not fret for those of you who havent watch the movie, there is no spoilers here!!...although i have to say, if your not planning on watching this movie.you dont know what your missing!! *hehe*

As quoted from the rolling stone, " The Dark Knight creates a place where good and evil — expected to do battle — decide instead to get it on and dance. "I don't want to kill you," Heath Ledger's psycho Joker tells Christian Bale's stalwart Batman. "You complete me."

There are many moments of the movie i truly enjoyed especially the action scenes..involving the batmobile and the super cool bike!!! and yes also the lamborgini..my heart crushed when i knew what was going to become of the car.. *sobs sobs*. I have no words to describe heath ledger who was mad-crazy-brilliant as the joker. It can be in no way compared to Jack Nicholson take of it in the 1989 Tim Burton's batman. Ledger's performance has definately put him on the pedestal and a deserving chance to grab an oscar!....

Among my favourite lines were " why so serious" & "lets put a smile on that face", not forgetting that evil laughter.. Everytime the joker would appear on the screen, it would just give me goosebumps. Therefore, all i can say is EVERYONE ( eventhough your not a fan of batman) should watch this movie..I have yet to meet a person who disagrees that this movie is just phenomenal...and im definately looking forward to watching it again..

The review by Todd Gilchrist : It isn't an overstatement to call The Dark Knight the most sophisticated and ambitious work of its kind. The Dark Knight qualifies as the first official comic book adaptation that truly succeeds in being a great artistic achievement in its own right.

So It Begins!

After a 1 month hols, its definately tough to go back to uni again. Some might find it easy, seeing that they might miss their friends or have had enough of the boring days at home and their slow deterioration of their brain. Well for me, i felt like the 1 month just flew by so fast, not that my holiday was AMAZING!..but i do like the lazing around and free time, although it can get boring at times..i suppose i will always choose that over the stressful uni life. So anyways how was my 1st day of uni???. It was as expected, timetable just got more hectic compared to the 1st sem. i still remember prof wilson (dental professor) telling us on our 1st week of semester 1 that sem 2 will be much better and less hectic... i guess he forgot about the 9-6 classes, 2 PBL sessions for medical and dental (Problem Based Learning), the double mms sessions (Medical Museum Session)... *argh!*.... Im just using this moment to complain and whine!!..tomorrow will be the day i accept and just deal with it.

Besides the fact that i have 2 major exams (1 dental & 1 medical) to sit for, my dental course does seem more interesting this semester. We actually going to learn about comparative anatomy, which is learning the anatomy of different animals such as dolphins, sheeps, monkeys. etc. There is also more practical stuff, were getting our new equipments and teeth model *wohoo*... so yes people! im looking forward to the fun and new stuff, not much of the exams and the studying part..although i really have to start studying early..no more last minute prep..doesnt really help me!.

Anyways, starting a new semester..the first question people tend to ask you is. "how was your holiday?". and the response... there's the short answer such as "it was short!", "it was alright", and there was "it was awesome, i did....". What is my answer to that question you might ask, my answer was "*blank* ok"... it really did get me thinking..what did i actually do in that 1 month! how did i spend my time!..

1st week: i had a 21st bday party to attend, spent most of my time in bkt jalil. I was also doing the last minute planning for my sis's suprise 21st party.
2nd week: my sister was down, spent time with her and mum. watched movies, download Csi season 8.
3rd week: shopping with mum and sis for a new bedroom set, clean the house and spent time with friends, watch gossip girl
4th week : my sis left for goldcoast, sat at home and finished my COP!

there you have it, basicly thats how i spent my holiday, it wasnt anything spectacular but i guess im not complaining. I still enjoyed it...next on my agenda is enduring the 12 weeks of uni..thats one good thing about the 2nd half of the year, its shorter then the 1st half...although there's always the end year exam which is tougher!! nothing good in life comes easy isnt it!

08' UPDATES

Feb 08':- accepted into IMU, found accomodation at vista C, vee lyn and sheela left for aussie, started dent course

March 08' : - i turned 20!!!!..had a 3 birthday suprises!! , orientation (bring 8 on), met really nice and wonderful people in IMU...made new friends...

April 08' :- attended birthday parties

May 08' : - stressing out about exams and course (what else is new)

June 08' :- finished my sem 1 on 20th june followed by 1 month hols! *yay!*, my sister was down from aussie for 2 weeks,

TAKE TWO!

Its been a while since i last blogged actually to be more specific its been a YEAR!!! and this is somewhat like a follow up to my 1st blog, so i bet your wondering what happen to my 1st blog (rambling-angel)?? and why the sudden comeback???.. no worries by the end of this post, all your questions will be answered.

1st Question : What happen to my last blog?
- well the blog still exist, didnt have the heart to actually delete it..after all the effort i put in it..all those time waiting for pictures to upload and looking for new background templates *sigh*.i do miss it...

2nd Question : Why not continue it??
- i needed a CHANGE (keyword being change), and after such a long gap..i decided to start fresh...sort of have a new perspective on things and how i would like my blog to be (although i do wonder how long this blog is going to last)..lol..*back to being positive*

3rd Question : Why did i stop blogging?
- only one word people.. LAZYNESS!!..when i was in adelaide, i had so much going on.that i got lazy to blog. It was also because, the internet fee was expensive hence uploading pictures and writting long post was impossible!!! ( this is me giving excuses *hehe*)..but seriously, i guess i just didnt have the time and just lost the interest ( im sure some might agree with me on this)

4th Question : What's with the new blog look?
- thought ill go for something more brighter and artsy!! (love the shadow lady images) and also i liked the purple colour.

5th Question : How is it different from the first blog?
- well,
the post might not be as long as the one's from the previous blogs (depending on how much time i have)
there might not be that many pictures. All the pictures will be on facebook ( most people have facebook)..unless i have nothing else better to do then it will be uploaded.
Basicly it will be straight to the point!..

6th Question : Why am i back to blogging?
- i needed a way to just get my mind of things and keep myself occupied (1 more week of hols to go)
